Practice Insights

Problem defnition

I conducted several user interviews to understand the current state of affairs for key users. We used Miro to collaborate and sort all of our findings into over 100 user stories which we then prioritized into a short list of the most relevant needs.

I first needed to gain an understanding of he current paint points, user needs and key jobs to be done by users and worked closely with research to gather all of the necessary user data.

Understanding Users
Advisors had little insight into why the data calculations were they way they were and thus could not quickly answer account related questions from their clients. The current statements were in a large PDF which was labor intensive and inconsistent. It lacked the necessary summary views that enabled advisors to analyze trends about income and assets.

Concept pitch to justify a budget

I created a concept narrative to pitch concept and need for project in order to gain traction and justify budget with executives and key stakeholders.

Design begins

Early Concepts

Early on I created rough sketches and wire frames to validate with key stakeholders if the proposed constructs made sense.

Refined Design Compositions

Financial practice managers need to be able to quickly glance at their various products and understand what is performing well. They need to be able to drill down into client data and expense data to understand key metrics which will help them run their practice more like a business. The proposed designs provide clear summary data about a branch, institution or or practice level performance in key areas.

Results & Key Findings

32% Faster customer turn around times for transaction inquiries

25% Reduced time spent on managing expenses

45% Reduced time spent on product performance review

In some cases time spent increased. For instance with goal setting, this was previously done on paper or in a document so it could be done quickly but there was no tracking or monitoring setup.
